Municipal Golf Course Bioswale

In 2010, a grant was awarded to ‘daylight’ the storm sewer pipe that traversed the south golf course and improve the water quality of the area. PEA worked with McCormick Engineering (South Bend) to develop a bioswale through the course that would enhance the terrain and help absorb storm water run-off. We developed a planting scheme using native trees and shrubs and a seed mix that was made up of short stature grasses and forbs. The entire project was completed in the late spring of 2010 and was well established by the fall of the same year.
